Credos of the Church of the Primary Source...

Theist Credo
Reality is My Bible

The Universe is God's Primary Source. His will is written in its laws.

The Bible and all other holy works are written by the hand of man, and therefore imperfect and subject to error.

Where the truths suggested by the Universe conflict with the written works of man, it is the truths suggested by the Universe that must be accepted.

To learn God's will, we must study the workings of the Universe. Studying the nature of the Universe allows us to live in greater harmony with ourselves and with nature. Therefore, knowledge is the key to living in harmony with God and with nature.

Science is a tool we use to discover God's will as it is expressed by the Universe. As it is a work of man, it is imperfect, and must be rigorously scrutinized and cross-checked.

Deliberate distortions in science are distortions in our understanding of God's will, and can not lead to greater harmony. Such distortions in science are therefore sacrilege against God, the Universe, ourselves, and the Primarian faith.

Non-Theist Credo

Statement of faith: The Universe is as it appears to be. There are no deliberate deceptions in the nature of reality.

No work written by the hand of man can be written with full knowledge of the the entire Universe. All of these works are therefore subject to error.

Where the truths suggested by the Universe conflict with the written works of man, it is the Universe that must be accepted.

Studying the nature of the Universe allows us to live in greater harmony with ourselves and with nature. Therefore, knowledge is the key to living in harmony with nature.

Science is a tool we use to discover nature of the Universe. As it is a work of man, it is imperfect, and must be rigorously scrutinized and cross-checked.

Mistakes in science are inevitabde. Deliberate distortions in science, on the other hand, are misrepresentations of our understanding of the nature of the Universe, and can not, therefore, lead to greater harmony. Such distortions in science are therefore sacrilege against the Universe, ourselves, and the Primarian faith.
